Chateau D'Yquem 2005

The pleasure provided by tasting the Yquem is a delicate sensation to express. Yquem is harmony in the complexity of flavors and aromas, a harmony that evolves, whose constituents blend to give birth to other balances.

Château Yquem was a former English fortified town. It was bought by the Wild family of Yquem who gave him his name. In 1785 during the reign of Louis XVI, Yquem became the property of the Lur Saluces family, following the marriage of Françoise Joséphine de Sauvage, the Lady of Yquem with Amédée de Lur Saluces, colonel of the dragons. For more than 35 years, Count A. de Lur Saluces perpetuated the family history at the head of Château Yquem with one philosophy: to preserve and defend a heritage of more than 4 centuries.
Since 1999, the LVMH group (Louis Vuitton - Moet Hennessy) is the majority shareholder of this unique 1er Cru Supérieur Classé de Sauternes in 1855 which Pierre Lurton manages. The latter, from a large line of Bordeaux owners, passionate about viticulture, lovers of the Bordeaux wine.
