CHATEAU OLIVIER 2012
PESSAC-LÉOGNAN - GRAND CRU CLASSE
Blend : Cabernet Sauvignon 60%, Merlot 40%.
Tasting notes : This wIne's very elegant blackish colour boasts all the characteristics of a great vintage. The bouquet is appealing. On the palate the explosion of strawberry‚ blackberry and raspberry flavours combines with light‚ pleasantly silky tannins. The overall impression is smooth and fruity. The finesse of the cabernets and the roundness of the merlots once again turn out to be perfectly complementary.
History : The lordship of Olivier dates back to 12th century. Patiently maintained by the Bethmann family, the Château surrounded by moats and an immense forest is preserving the site of the most astonishing vineyards of Bordeaux. Firmly rooted in Bordeaux’s history, Château Olivier is located 11 kilometres from Bordeaux in the middle of a 220 hectare estate made up of grassland, century-old oak trees, pine woods and of course 55 hectares of vines.
Château Olivier is endowed with the rare benefit of having terroirs which are equally excellent for red and white wines. A fine representative of its appellation Chateau Olivier is ranked as Graves Cru Classé.
Chateau Olivier produces seductive, assured and highly engaging wines. Chateau Olivier is archetypal of the great Bordeaux wines.
