CHATEAU TEYNAC 2012
Blend : Cabernet Sauvignon 70%, Merlot 28%, Petit Verdot 2%.
Tasting notes : Red purple color. Nice nose with black fruit aromas‚ liquorice and minthy notes. The wine is well-balanced in the mouth neat‚ round and ample with mellowed tannins.
Matching food : Fowl‚ white and red meats.
History : A fine example of a family property (owned by the Pairault family), Château Teynac is located in the middle of the village of Beychevelle. This is one of the few medium-sized châteaux in the appellation area. Having more than doubled in size with the addition of Cru Classé land, the vineyards now cover eleven hectares. These are almost entirely located on the Beychevelle plateau in St-Julien, “mingling” with those of their illustrious neighbours.
Far from falling back on the prestige of its appellation, Château Teynac has its own philosophy, possesses high quality equipment, and is subject to great care and attention due to its manageable size. The Château’s philosophy is characterized by a policy of moderate, predictable pricing, a slight indifference to passing winemaking fads, and above all by a focus on quality.
