Blend : 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc

Terroir: Gravel

Dress : A very dark deep purple with a garnet edge

Tasting note : red fruit and cherry.  the velvety tanins deliver a lively, balanced experience with a long finish will improve with a few years of ageing.

Matching food : Beef roasted with spring vegetables, casseroles, pork filet mignon, and another Bordeaux classic: lamproie à la bordelaise, or lamprey cooked in rich wine sauce.

History : Clos l'Hermitage is located in Lalande de Pomerol near the village of Neac - one of the stars of the Libourne area. The just 3Ha of vineyards are planted with Merlot which brings body and fruitiness and Cabernet Franc which adds aromatic complexity.

Wine growing has run in the Bertin family since 1742, each generation bequeathing onto the next one their love of the craft, together with their skills and know-how.
