Bordeaux wine region is vast, with different types of red and white varietals allowed to be grown there is so much to try!
The region that is split by the Gironde river typically has Cabernet Sauvignon based on the left bank and Merlot on the right bank. The other grapes grown are used to blend the winemakers preferred style using the best performing grapes. These remaining grapes are Carménère, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec for the red and Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, Muscadelle for the white.
